Foreigners can own a Jomtien condo freehold in their own name within a building's 49% foreign quota. The catch: Jomtien's most popular older buildings have been selling to foreigners for twenty years, so quota there is often full — meaning a unit may only be available as a registered 30-year leasehold or at a "foreign quota" price premium.
